Pine Island Fishing Report: Water And Bite Finally Warms Up, For Now

24 inch Redfish

23 1/2 inch trout

The water temps finally hit the mid 70's this afternoon which is just about the most welcome news we could have right now.  The trout bite switched on overnight and yesterday we didn't land a single fish under 18 inches out in Pine Island Sound.  The excellent incoming tides also helped a lot.  Gulps and white jerk baits worked all morning.  Unfortunately, we've only got two more days of this before it gets cold again on Monday night.
